Eclipse Accelerating Motor E-104349-3 Bendix Inertia Starter 24V NOS Military:
$350.00

Original Eclipse Accelerating Motor Assembly, manufactured by Bendix Aviation Corporation, Eclipse Pioneer Division, Teterboro, New Jersey. This unit is identified by Manufacturer’s Drawing No. E-104349-3 and military stock number R86-EC-104349-3.

This is a 24-volt accelerating motor used as part of an aircraft inertia starter system, designed to electrically accelerate a starter flywheel prior to engine engagement. The construction, output shaft geometry, and electrical configuration are consistent with Eclipse inertia starter accelerating motors used on mid-20th-century U.S. military aircraft engines.

The motor retains its original finish and hardware and is accompanied by original Aircraft Equipment Condition Tags.. Documentation indicates the unit was processed through ASD Norfolk (ASD NORVA) and preserved Ready For Issue (RFI) in February 1955 under Method 2D long-term military preservation. Assembly was only recently removed from long-term preservation barrel for identification. BARREL SHOWN FOR PROVENANCE BUT NOT INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE.

This listing is for a complete accelerating motor assembly only, not a full starter system. No specific engine or airframe application is stated on the data plate or military paperwork and is therefore not confirmed. Any compatibility beyond the confirmed identification above should be independently verified by the buyer; however, unit is believed to be compatible with Allison V12 engines.

A scarce and desirable component suitable for warbird restoration projects, advanced aviation collections, or museum display, especially where original Bendix / Eclipse starter system hardware is sought.
