GTR 2 sees the Core 2 part outperform the new Core i7s under the low setting, and it also outscores the mainstream 920 under the high category. The 965, however, ekes out a win under the high setting.
For GRiD, both Core i7 processors shine in this particular title, dominating the Core 2 Extreme part by wide margins in both categories.
Call of Duty 4 shows the lower latencies of the system memory and CPU caches of the Core 2 test system most likely explain the QX9770’s lead in both categories since Infinity Ward’s modern take on their franchise isn’t the most demanding on PC hardware of shooters on the market today.
Like GRID, World in Conflict sees the Core i7 parts dominating the older processor architecture by substantial margins in both categories.
