Falcon 4: Allied Force
TripleHead2Go Support? Not really
F4’s photo-realistic cockpit is a tricky beast when trying to change resolutions. A few months ago a thread hereat Frugal’s World described how to edit Allied Force’s display.dsp file to gain non-4:3 resolutions. However, even with these edits the 2D cockpit is fixed at the upper left corner of the screen, and the 3D cockpit field-of-view is fixed at 60 degrees. In addition, there is a limit with DirectX 7 games such that a maximum horizontal resolution of 2048 pixels is supported; this means that Allied Force can be run at a maximum resolution of 1920×480 with the TripleHead2Go. At this resolution Allied Force is ugly and HUD and MFD text overlaps.
You can run Allied Force at 1920×480, but you won’t want to — it’s not playable.
Jane’s F/A-18 Simulator
TripleHead2Go Support? Not really
The retail release of Jane’s F-18 included support for only three resolutions: 640×480, 800×600, and 1024×768. While Team Superhornet has added more and more resolution choices over the years, there are still none publicly available that work with the TripleHead2Go. However, as a TSH member I have access to information that allowed me to hex edit the Jane’s F-18 executable to run at 1920×480. Like Allied Force, JF-18 is also based on DirectX 7 code, and any attempt to run Jane’s F-18 at 2400×600, 3072×768, or 3840×1024 using results in a CTD.
Also like Allied Force, you can run JF-18 at 1920×480, but you won’t want to. The field-of view is fixed and way too small for triplehead operation.
