Back To Page 3 The MiG-29 has his hands full already though as one of our F-16 escorts has engaged him and a vicious gun fight ensues. The F-16 and the MiG-29 twist and turn through the skies becoming both the hunter and the hunted several times. A second F-16 joins the fray and the […]
Back To Page 2 The Horizontal Situation Display (HSD) is one of the most useful MFD pages for maintaining SA. It shows your planned route, waypoints, bulls-eyes, and direction. The large white arrow always points due north and when the crap really hits the fan in the Korean theater you will almost always be […]
Back To Page 1 With the planning complete we hit the FLY button and wait for our take-off time to roll around. I have chosen (as usual) not to do a full ramp start and am dropped into the cockpit on the runway with my engine running and my systems all functioning. Seconds later […]
by Guest Writer Chris “BeachAV8R” Frishmuth The evolution of Falcon 4 continues. In the past few weeks the F4 community has been graced with yet another modification to add to the collection of user created add-ons. The long awaited F4 Unified Team SuperPak 4 (SP4) has arrived. As is the case with pretty much any piece of computer coding […]
Back To Page 7 My calls to them to desist are rebuffed. What can I do? They must be covered, and no one is near but I. But it is not to be. These foolhardy, brave Georgians will be left alone. I am called by Overlord, the AWACS controller. I am ordered by our Commander to […]
Back To Page 6 Phosphorous tracer sprays around the cockpit. I force down the lump in my throat-I do not want to again be shot down. But this is getting back upon my horse, yes? Again, I duel the Sheikh’s men. “711, off to the southeast. Two, have a care. Triple-A close.” Vasily is […]
Back To Page 3 The two in-flight 5V55 missiles… …are locked on the lead Tornado. “Bloody hell! I can’t shake this damn thing!”The Tornado punches off all external loads, its ALARM missiles, its BL-755 bombs. Frantically, the British pilot maneuvers, to no avail. A hard turn away from the oncoming missile is matched, and a […]
Back To Page 5 I lock the reticle onto the north-most cooling tower and fire as I come into range. The Georgian Kh-29L hit the center tower. I will kill the two outer towers. The Kh-23L is similar to your laser Maverick F. Its engagement parameters are much the same. I see it detonate with […]
Back To Page 4 But the Su-25s will not be denied. The Georgian flight leader has great courage. He bores steadily in to target, and as the missile homes in on his wingman, he has released his own Kh-25MP! It impacts, destroying the 46M search radar, blinding the missile battery! With a respite, the Georgian […]
Back To Page 2 The British pilots are on the air, the two Tornadoes’ four crewmen chattering back and forth. The Georgian Su-25s have passed them! They are overeager, wanting to strike a blow against those who have attacked their homeland. But the IRLF crew manning the S-300 is cagey. They draw their enemies into […]
Back To Page 1 The Commander darkened the lights and showed us our target. A feeling of dread came over me. Not because I would be fighting again… but because of the reason that Vasily and I would fly. The slide on the screen was of the nuclear plant at Samelalio. This is a […]
by Cat How do you say it? There is no rest for the weary? It seems as if I was only just allowed by our flight surgeon to fly once again. After my misadventure at Suhumi, and my narrow escape, I was relegated to a desk for some weeks. My left arm, fractured. Not badly. I could […]
