Recon imagery shows the airfield layout and runway heading. I have adjusted the inbound waypoint course (yellow arrow) to roughly correspond to the runway heading thus giving a fairly straight run-in from the IP. Intel reports the airfield is defended by light caliber weapons and the 227th Air Defense Battalion is located between the ingress and egress routes (blue arrow).
Ordnance for the mission will consist of 6 BLU-107/B “Durandal” runway cratering munitions, 2 AIM-120 and 2 AIM-9M missiles. Since we will be flying a low-level, fuel hungry profile each aircraft will carry two external fuel tanks.
With the planning completed we wait for our take-off time.
