	“Vasily, abort! Enemy fighter close!”
	I pop my centerline tank loose. The F-16 is only ten kilometers away.
	I flip into helmet mode and using the 36-Sh electro-optical system, I fire an R-73 just as the F-16 locks me up.“One shooter! Fox three!”He immediately takes evasive action, popping flares.
	I follow the shot, thumbing up my R-27 and lock him with my N-019 radar.

The R-73 goes wild, and I remember Ethiopia and the Ukrainian mercenaries, as I call fox one and release the R-27 from a suicidal three kilometers distance. If it misses, I have one R-73 left and I will not fail. Two Canadians may be dead now, because they tried to protect us. I will avenge them.

	Inside five kilometers, the R-27R1 is deadly.I prefer the high-energy versions, because they can sustain maneuvers much longer. But the 9-12 MiG cannot carry them.This one flies true despite the jamming and the chaff the Turkish pilot deploys.
	My Zhuk-derived radar is virtually jam-proof inside this distance.It impacts with a bright flash…
	…and I see the Turk eject.

With cold satisfaction I alert the FSB section at Gudauta. The Canadians will be glad indeed to hear that we have one of the pilots who shot their comrades out of the sky. Now, I have evened the score.
